What ingredients do you use in your candles?
We use natural soy wax, cotton wicks, and carefully selected fragrance oils. Each scent is chosen for its clean burn and lasting aroma.
Are Smelty candles vegan friendly?
Yes. Our candles contain no animal-derived ingredients and use plant-based wax and nond animal tested fragrances.
How long do your candles burn?
A standard 200g candle burns for around 40 hours when burned in 2–3 hour sessions with proper wick trimming.
Do you use any synthetic additives?
Sometimes. We don’t additives and dyes on our Everyday Collection but sometimes on the limited edition requires me to add some colours. Our candles are made with natural ingredients and transparently sourced fragrances.
Can I recycle the jars?
Absolutely. Our candle jars are glass and can be reused or recycled. Clean out any leftover wax and wash them before reusing.
What is the best way to care for my candle?
Trim the wick to 5 mm before each burn, allow a full melt pool to form on the first burn, and avoid burning for more than 3 hours at a time.
Do you offer international shipping?
Currently we ship only within Australia. We may consider international shipping in the future.
How is shipping calculated?
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on weight and destination. We offer free shipping on orders over a certain amount.
Are the fragrances natural?
We use a mix of natural essential oils and high quality fragrance oils that are phthalate free and safe for use in candles.
What are wax melts?
Wax melts are small pieces of scented wax designed to be gently heated in a warmer. They release fragrance without a flame.
How do I use wax melts?
Place one or two pieces in a wax warmer and heat until the wax melts. Replace when the scent dissipates.
Do you use plastic in your packaging?
We minimise plastic. Our packaging is primarily recyclable paper or cardboard.
Are your products cruelty free?
Yes. None of our ingredients or finished products are tested on animals.
What is the difference between soy and paraffin wax?
there are many differences, one is soy wax is plant‑derived and burns cleaner while Paraffin is petroleum based so is a non-renewable resorce.
How strong are your candle scents?
Our candles are balanced to provide a noticeable but not overpowering scent that fills a medium sized room.
Can I return a product?
If there’s an issue with your order, contact us within 7 days. We’ll arrange a return or replacement depending on the situation.
Do you offer custom scents?
We don’t currently offer custom scents, but we love hearing suggestions for future releases.
How should I store my candles?
Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and melting.
Are your products suitable for people with allergies?
We list all ingredients. If you have specific allergies, please check the ingredients or contact us for more information.

Every candle, melt, and scrub is handmade in our studio in Australia.
How long does it take to process an order?
Orders typically ship within 2–3 business days. During busy periods it may take a little longer.
Can I pick up my order locally?
We currently operate online only and don’t offer local pickup.

Do you use essential oils?
Some scents incorporate essential oils, but we also use fragrance oils designed for a stable candle burn.

What is your return policy for melts and scrubs?
Due to the nature of these items, we can’t accept returns unless the product is defective.
